Latitude E6410 ON-flash

Did you remove the driver software,  or did you reload the operating system?

Having the same problem here...   got E6410 from my job...  they have standard image they deploy with WinXP pro SP3.   I can't get Latitude On Flash to install.  it also states that the flash module not found...  none of software from Dell of Latitude On Flash would install...  so I can't get any of them to work...

Little help would be greatly appreciate it....   I think it's a very nice feature to have.   thank you.

well here is a quick update...  I downloaded E6410 service manual (support.dell.com) and found where the Latitude ON Flash module is located...  I opened up my E6410...  disappointment...   the module is not installed in my E6410...  bummer...  no love for me...  but for those of you that have to have it...  you can pay Dell $60 to get upgrade module...

This only works if you have Outlook installed & configured - which rules out Win7 onwards. I spent two hours getting all the drivers & software together & installed on Win7 64-bit, then setting up the required disk partition (FAT32) - imagine my disappointment when it told me I needed Outlook for it all to work...

I'm also struggling with setting up Latitude ON.

My E6410 is an ex company model which they completely wiped prior to resale. I've installed Windows 7 x64 and have all the system drivers installed.

I performed a driver/application search using my Express Service Code and it tells me that that I should be able to install the following:

• Dell Latitude/Precision ON Flash Application View details
• DELL_MULTI-DEVICE_A08_R279513.exe | Hard-Drive (20 MB)  

• Dell Latitude/Precision ON Flash Firmware Update View details

Therefore as these are listed as available for my laptop you would assume that there is no additional hardware required and that I should be able to simply run the above programs, however I get the same error regarding flash when trying to install the software.

So far I've only had success with installing Dell Reader 2.1 however that only allows access to MS Outlook, which is its expected function. Thus the Latitude ON button now works but only gives me access to Outlook.

Does anyone know what this "flash" is? Is that referring to hardware or drivers or a formatted partition? I can't find much info around on this subject. Cheers.

I can't see the Flash module for sale on their website. ?? I might be searching in the wrong category or it may not be available anymore.

Looks like the modules aren't available anymore from Dell.

Installing the card is a breeze. In theory anyway. I still need to get my hands on one. :)

All it takes to install is remove 1 x screw, the one holding the "multimode DisplayPort connector" silver panel in place, slide out that panel and you will see the Dell ON logo, the word ENCR and an arrow. The card should easily slide in there and lock into place. Then screw the panel back in place.

I then recommend running a diagnostic from the Bios/Startup menu (F12 at bootup) to ensure it can see the card. If all okay then exit and boot into Windows as normal. Download the Latitude ON Flash software from Dell and install it.

Once I get a card and test out the above instructions I'll post back. Hopefully sooner than later. :)
