Latitude E6520 Optimus with Linux

Hello there,

For a long time I am using optimus in Latitude E6520 with windows 7. Thanks to that I can attach up to 3 external monitors to the system and it works giving 4 in total (through docking station).

I am however wondering on switching to a Linux system (Linux Mint or other ubuntu based). Could you please tell me either optimus is supported for a linux OS? Can I easilly like in windows choose which apps will open using integrated or Nvidia graphics card?

I would really apreciate all help regarding this case.
