LCD screen marks

I have a relatively new (3 months old) Inspiron notebook that is beginning to show small key marks on the LCD screen (about 20 of them).

Does anyone know why this occurs, how it can be prevented or how I can properly remove them from my screen?

Thanks for the help.

If it's not dust or dirt that can be wiped away with a damp cloth, the only solution is a replacement screen.

Slip a soft piece of paper towel between the keyboard and screen when carrying it closed.

In fairness, I've seen it happen with Apples, HPaqs, Gateways, IBMs and others - it's not just a Dell issue.

Problem occurs because Dell did not design enough space between LCD screen face and keyboard, so the keys rub on the screen while carrying it around.

Never-the-less if Dell had used rubber bumpers which were 1mm taller the problem would not exist to the extent it does.
