Nice. I have to repost my message as it was deleted for the use of a perfectly normal, non-profane English word which apparently violates the arbitrary language filters. You are allowed to say the words "screw" and "screwdriver", but you cannot say the past-tense word which is the result of having used the screwdriver to drive in the screw.
Anyway, the original post, with what is apparently "better" language:
I tried a couple of MS keyboards and a couple of Logitechs; none
had any problems. I settled on the Logitech Cordless Comfort
Duo since the mouse and KB both worked well and have the buttons
in the right places. The new MS Elite has the cursor buttons
all hosed up.
All you did was acknowledge what I said. Apparently that's not allowed either...?
So many things seem random and arbitrary all around with Dell lately. More of the consquences of outsourcing? I don't know, but it's not the same company it was a few years ago.
Keyboard feel is excellent (and I'm really picky because I type fast on a proper keyboard). It sure beats the loose and noisy MS Elite Pro I tried. I haven't changed batteries, only had the set for about three weeks. My girlfriend has a Logitech track ball and gets about 9 months on a pair of batteries.
My Inspiron 9100 (which is due to be delivered to my office tomorrow AM!) will be my first notebook PC. Some of the computing I do at home is accounting. Not only personal -- I'm also the treasurer of a bowling league, and that involves a bunch of data entry every week. I'm a devoted numeric keypad user, having been trained as a bank teller more years ago than I care to admit.
I've already purchased a USB wireless mouse 'cuz I don't think me and the touchpad thingie are going to get along too well. (By the way, the current top-of-the line Gateway notebooks have numeric keypads and a nice scroll wheel on their fingertip pointing devices. Both very nicely done.)
Anyway, I need to get a numeric keypad. I'd REALLY like one that's wireless. My PC will have BlueTooth, but I can't seem to find a BT keypad. Has anyone seen either a BT or IR wireless numeric keypad?? I'd appreciate any recommendations, and personal insights -- good or bad.

Hi SwampNut,
I'm interested in Logitech's Comfort Duo. How does the keyboard feel? How often do you have to change the batteries?
Thanks,
Jen
