Left click on touchpad is "sticky"/gets stuck.
I have a brand new Dell XPS 15 with the Haswell processor (I've only had it for about a month).
I have noticed that the left click of the trackpad sometimes gets "stuck" when I click it and the pointer stays "active" until remedied by right clicking. Examples of what I mean:
- Scrolling will get "stuck" after I left click to drag the scroll bar up and down. It is not relieved by left clicking again. It is relieved by right clicking.
- When selecting icons, the selection box will not release and continue to drag the selection box across the screen until relieved by right clicking.
- Selecting text, the selection will not "release" and will continue to select text
Hopefully this is enough to explain my situation and problem. I am hoping there is a solution to this. In fact, most of this message is copy-pasted from this thread, because it's the same exact problem you've been having with this model for more than a year:

Updating the drivers etc. doesn't help. Also, when it happens, the sound is different -- there's either a click and the touchpad works or there isn't a click and the touchpad is stuck.
Also, I can't return it -- I use it all day every day for my job. I'll need it fixed at my home or office.
Thanks!

If you have ordered the system with an onsite service upgrade, you should be all set - if not, you'll need to buy an upgrade before you call to have the palmrest assembly replaced under warranty.

Honestly, I don't remember what options I purchased, but I'm happy to get the service upgrade and schedule a service call. Do you know how to do that?

You can check the existing service plan at support.dell.com using the service tag. For a warranty upgrade you'll have to call for a price quote.
