Lost touchpad settings

Hello, a few weeks ago (I think after the last windows update) all of a sudden my touchpad settings were gone.  I've had this computer (Inspiron N5110, Windows 7) for about 9 months and it's been great until now.  The touchpad is now super sensitive and the cursor seems to go anywhere it wants, probably because my palms barely brush it when I'm typing but I usually feel like I am not touching it at all.  It will open whatever the cursor is hovering over, even when I don't click it.

I tried to find the settings for the touchpad under Control Panel>Mouse but there is nothing for the touch pad.   Am I just not looking in the right spot for the settings?  I feel like I've looked everywhere!  I'm trying to live with it, but it's so inefficient to be constantly clicking somewhere I don't want to be, it's driving me crazy!  Please help.

Hi Julie,

Welcome to the Dell Community.

Please install the touchpad driver using the link mentioned below:

Restart the system and you should see an icon for touchpad at bottom right side where the time is mentioned.

If that does not fix the issue, I would suggest you to perform system restore using the link mentioned below:

NOTE: System restore will remove the applications installed after the restore point however, it does not affect the data.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks for your quick reply.  I downloaded the driver but I'm getting a message that says "You are attempting to install a driver that is the same version as the one that is currently installed on my system.  Do you wish to proceed with the installation?"
