M1330 power issues

My M1330 won't turn on, no LED's, errors, or noises, just came to it this morning and nothing. when I plug the power adapter into the wall it lights up, then i then plug it into the laptop, the light goes out again, the laptop is completely unreponsive (even the 'plugged in' LED doesn't come on). I have just tried the power lead from my other M1330, has the same problem, I have also tried the power lead and battery from the broken m1330 in the working one, they seem to work ok.

I have submitted a support ticket to dell, here's hoping they can sort it. Will post either way

I am having the exact same problem with my XPS M1330.  I cannot get any response from my system.  No noise, lightes etc.  I ordered a new battery but in reading complaints on the internet,  I don't believe it is a battery problem.  My system is less than 2 years old.

If your adapter LED goes out when you plug in the notebook end, the system board is faulty.  Given the notoriety of the nVidia chips on these boards, if you decide to replace the board, do so with an Intel video version.

If you have the nVidia version now, note that you WILL need a new heatsink - the existing one won't fit the Intel one.

Do you know the part number / model number of the heat sink for the intel mother board?
