any sights of the "burn in" effect ? quite impressive the 3dmarks.. CPU speed can have a great impact and running at full speed may double that already very good score.. and how do games perform ( like UT2k3, Aquanox 2, ... ) ? benchmarks are usually not really representive.
the cpu is not a production model and something is wrong with it. the computer was a dell demo. i don't really play any games but it's great for our cad software. i'm sure once i get the processor swapped, the score will go up alot.
so there is no 'blur' or windows which don't disappear when the screen changes ? ( this burn in effect seen on Inspiron 8500 - using a samsung WUXGA 15,4'' ( 1920x1200 ) ) Pity you don't play games - but I know how small project time frames can be - maybe it's even better not to play any games :)
An easier way to find the Dell 5-digit part# would be to log onto premiersupport.dell.com with the M60's service tag. Being only a demo notebook though, the system details which would normally include the videocard part number may or may not be listed.
For ex.:

My M60 - currently in Boxing stage - appears to be due to be delivered ahead of schedule sometime next week. As soon as it arrives I'll post the part number for the Quadro FX Go700 128mb. The
item number as listed on my order status page is
320-0707. I'm not certain if that number is of any use when ordering, but another individual was apparently able to order the 7200rpm 60gb HDD (item number 340-9357) through Small Business spare parts by using an item number so it might be worth a shot.

cool, if it's not too much trouble could you post the following info when you get your M60 - the core and memory clock speeds for the quadro fx go video card and if possible a 3dmark 2001SE score. Thanks a lot.
Your CPU is utilizing Intel's SpeedStep technology... Your score seems fine, my 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4 with a GeForce FX 5600 Go scores a couple of hundred points higher than that, maybe 200 at most... Your scores are fine.
I'll try to do that when I get mine if the other gentlemen doesn't post before I get mine. I just ordered and it should arrive sometime around the 23rd (or so says dell :P)!
Just got my refurb m60 with 512 of ram, (I replaced with 1 gig, i think dell prices on ram are way out of the ballpark), 60 gig 7200 HD, and 128 mb video and 4 X dvd Cdrw, 1.7 PM, WSXGA+ Screen, A: drive for Just 2170.00, even though shipping was 110.00 I think i got a great deal, this machine is nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, This is the second dell refurb i bought, it came in a new box with no scratches, it looks just like a new one confiqured off ther web site for about 1,500.00 LESS!!!!!!!!

I'd be happy to. I already have 3dMark2001SE and 3dMark2003 downloaded and ready to go. Just need the machine now...
