M6600 -precision
On 15 th May I purchased above cited dell precision M 6600 from a dell dealer in Abu Dhabi. When opened the packing I found recovery disc in French, Turkish etc and not English version. When I referred the matter to Dell locall customer support and technical support they sent a damaged DVD (bend) through courier. When I informed about the receipt of damaged DVD they replied they don't have any more English version. Now I need to recover my machine and am unable to do so. I am helpless now. The service no indicates a non regional product. Why did Dell provide me with a non regional product? Was it redundant item lying in the UAE store which they wanted to push to me. It is 15 days now since I spend $ 3560/- and unable to use it. Though I send mails to local dell support center they don't respond or come out for any assistance. What am I to do. Can dell take it back give a refund so that I can go for another brand and make my life easier? What is dells 24 hours service or replacement support? I wanted to use this machine for my designs and presentations of my new products. Can any one help. Regards Sathish G Kandath Friday 1st June 12.

Also take into note, I input the service tag to the drivers and downloads page before removing it, it didn't show up, so I changed the last digit from an I to a 1. I assume that it was a typo. Anyway it came up as a Precision M6600. I couldn't see any information under original system configuration.
In the drivers and downloads page the default OS was BIOs so I couldn't see what OS it was shipped with. Take note that inputting the service tag in the drivers and downloads page yields a subset of drivers for the Precision M6600 but I did notice the Dell System Software, Intel Chipset, Intel Ethernet and Audio are all missing for instance which should apply to all precision M6600 units. I have complained about service tags not displaying the correct drivers or incomplete driver sets as in your case. Dell are updating all service tags manually so this may take some time to complete.

What operating system came with your precision M6600? Was it Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP? Do you have a Windows COA?
This should have the version of Windows the system is licensed for and finally should have the 25 digit product key. Take note of these and tell me what version of Windows it has. Note the COA may be found below the battery.
If your OS is any flavour of Windows 7 or Windows Vista then I will guide your through a reinstallation using downloadable English retail media. This will work with your 25 digit product key and phone activation. Ideally you should have a Dell Reinstallation DVD but I don't know how things work with Dell out your way.
For Windows 7, download the .iso and then create a bootable USB stick as instructed in my wiki Microsoft Windows 7 Official .iso Download Links (Digital River). Then subsequently use this to follow my wiki A Clean Install of Windows 7.
For Windows Vista first download the files, create an .iso and then a bootable USB stick as instructed in my wiki Microsoft Windows Vista Official .iso Download Links (Digital River). Then subsequently use this to follow my wiki A Clean Install of Windows Vista.
For Windows XP you require a Dell reinstallation CD, there is no downloadable retail media I can only recommend you to get one off the likes of eBay. Then subsequently follow my wiki A Clean Install of Windows XP.
