Can you let me know if the only memory compatible with Dell computers is Kingston? As I recently purchased another brand of memory and my computer kept crashing.
Boot from the Dell Drivers and Utilities CD to run the Dell Diagnostics test which will test everything in the laptop. Choose test all and quick tests.
I too only get my notebook memory from Crucial. It is guaranteed to work. So far, I am 100% happy with everything that I have purchased from them.
2 years ago I was very disappointed with a Crucial purchase. Got a TShirt from them with memory, enabled me to use a coupon that got the shirt for free and $5 off memory. The shirt was poorly sized, way too short. LOL
Thanks for your help but I can't use crucial as I live in the UK. I wasted £50 on memory that doesn't work so I guess I'll just have to buy more memory from Dell. Boo!

Ah, you may want to look closer. Crucial has a UK facility and ships to the UK and many other countries...
