Microphone and audiodg.exe cpu usage
First of all hello, I'm new to the forum, yesterday I got my new XPS 13.
I have been noticing that the process "audiodg.exe" corresponding to audio processing (for both microphone and heahphones) is using an unusualy high amount of CPU whether I'm playing music or not.
At idle, with no background sound/music, the usage is around 9% and when I start playing music it stays the same. On the other hand, even though my microphone is muted, disabling "Audiosmart SSP" lowers the cpu usage to 4%, whatsmore, when disabling the microphone as an input device in windows control panel, the CPU usage lowers even more to less than 0,5%, even when playing music.
Is anyone else experiencing this wierd behaviour?
Thank you for any input/advice!

SOLUTION:
In Windows 7, when running audio or video player software, CPU usage will reach above 80% instantly. This phenomenon is caused by " audiodg.exe " process. Sometimes, high CPU usage by this process might lead to fake crash. Here is a solution to this problem:
1. Right-click "Speakers" icon in the taskbar and then select "Playback devices"
Fig.1
2 . Under "Playback" tab, right-click "Speakers", and select "Properties".

3. Click on " Enhancements" tab under "Speakers Properties". Check " Disable all e nhancements " checkbox .

By the above steps, you could resolve the problem that " audiodg .exe" process hosts high CPU usage and prevent your machine from slow running and fake crash.
