Migrating from E6420 to E6430
Hi
Currently I am using E6420 laptop with Windows 7 on it. I have all required software installed and configured on it. Now I am asked to migrate to E6430. I can't re-install and configure all required software on the new E6430 laptop again.
If I created image using dd (*ix command) on old E6420 laptop and put the image on new E6430 laptop, will it work. Or any other suggestions for easy migration.

As long as you don't have any hardware-based security enabled (i.e., TPM) you may be able to make it work. It goes without saying that you shouldn't even attempt it without a complete backup of your original system, though.
