mini 1210 restore

I have reached the limit of my computer ability (pretty quickly, sadly).

I would like to reformat / restore the operating system on my mini 1210 to original.  Basically wipe it clean and get it going again.  On my Dell Studio One I do that with ctrl and F11 on startup but that does not work for my mini 1210.  I downloaded the manual and tried the F8 procedure but that does not give me the option to repair and restore as set out in the manual.  So basically, I think I am left with a manual format.

Question: How do I restore the mini 1210 system manualy.  I doubt I have any original disks as there is no CD drive or floppy drive on the computer.

Jad7,

The CTRL-F11 is only for Windows XP systems manufactured after July 15, 2004.  Vista and Windows 7 use  the F8 procedure.  You press the F8 while the Dell logo is still on the screen.  Log on as a local user; i.e., the user name and password you normally use to log onto Vista.  If you log on as administrator you will not have access to the Factory Restore option.

Thanks Tony,

The mini is running XP 2002 version, but CTRL F11 just makes a loud noise and then it boots normally.  Also, CTRL F8 doesn't give me an option to Factory Restore.  The manual says to select "repair your computer" option, but of course that option doesn't show up on my mini.  Frustrating.
