Missing PCI Data Acquisition and Signal processing controller drivers
Hi!
I am having trouble with my Inspiron 11 3148
Service Tag: CSFND32
A few weeks ago I performed a clean re-installation of windows 8.1 using an .iso downloaded from microsoft support, and upgraded to windows 10 shortly after.
I no longer have my installation thumb drive, hence the .iso from microsoft.
Since doing a clean install, I've been experiencing a few issues that I will break down as best I can.
1. Missing drivers for Unknown Devices & a PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller.
I was having some wifi issues, so I looked at the device manager to see whether my card needed a driver update and discovered several other device driver errors, that could not be resolved using windows update. The wifi card itself says it is up to date.
I've tried using the dell service detect applet downloaded on IE from the Dell driver page, but it doesn't seem to function.
If anybody can identify which driver(s) I might need for these unknowns that would be fantastic.
2. Wifi issues possibly related to the above missing drivers.
- Sometimes does not detect networks.
- Sometimes cannot connect to the internet when on my home network.
- Is not able to connect in weak spots where previously it could.
** Resetting the network card in network settings solves detection and connectivity issues, but does not improve signal detection in weak spots **
3. High (100-96%) HDD load for a few minutes after start up and very occasional "page fault in nonpaged areas" errors.
- I experienced fairly high disk load last time I had windows 10 upgrade the first time, often requiring 5-10 minutes to settle down at start-up
- Second time around, I am still getting high disk load, but it is not as protracted. The fresh upgrade is very 'light', as I have very few programs installed and even fewer launching at startup.
- Page faults seemed to coincide mostly with me using Google Chrome shortly after startup. I now use firefox instead, and have only experienced one error so far since swapping
** I used the windows disk checker and ran chkdsk /r for a more protracted disk check at restart but both found no problems with the drive **

Ok... So typically after I have just finished writing this post, I stumble upon a solution for problem number one whilst browsing the microsoft answers forums.
I have downloaded and installed a driver for the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework.
- This has solved my missing driver issues.
- I have restarted a few times and I'm also not experiencing any wifi problems so far other than the weak spot problem, but whatever I'll take it!
