Monitor PLEASE HELP!!!

Question

Hello everyone,        I have an old laptop that I have always wanted to still be able to use, but it was slow as ****.  I would probably say that it is so slow, if someone tried using it, they would throw it through the window, and not even bother to open the window, or take the screen out.   SO!!!!  I have been trying to upgrade my ram card, and possibly my hard drive for the laptop.  The problem is, when I was taking the laptop apart(don't worry, I did get it apart), but I haven't used the laptop in maybe 2 years.  I opened it up, and found these things:  This is a picture of the back of the monitor, which has the tape(so called) that sends the image that the computer creates to the monitor.  Here are the two real problems:        I ripped these as I took apart the computer, and in the first pic, you can see the rip from the monitor to the black plastic connector, and in the second, you can see the rip of the part that goes from the black plastic connector to the connection to the chip in the computer.   SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW OR WHERE TO GET A NEW ONE!!!

Your pictures are way too big to even read your post. They are also very out of focus so that I cannot even see what they are after resizing them in photoshop.

Ouch that looks harsh. Does it still work with an external monitor? depending on how old it is, you can either get a replacement part from Dell or buy a parts laptop off ebay.

hmmm... beleive it or not, i don't even think it has a video output to use with another monitor because its so old, but i'll check it out, and look around on dell and ebay thanks for the advice
