More secured BIOS

I would like to somewhow (on Latitude D620):

disable F2, F12  POST message

totally disable access to BIOS (i.e. to have Admin password before entering to BIOS).

Does Dell PC/laptops support anythink like this?

Thank you.

I don't know about just disabling F2 or F12 but in the bios setup if you look there should be an option to set a password. I don't know this particular laptop but most all systems I have seen have that option. Take a look under power options toward the last setup page.

Yes, I have set Admin password, but the user can access BIOS after pressing F2 even just for Read Only.  And this is I would like to have disabled - simply no access to BIOS.

I have to say I don't know that bios but just going by the ones I have dealt with. Ok, what about the option to halt on errors, any option there for password? I will have to look for more information and if I come across any will let you know.

D..

If you set a system password no one will be able to access the bios without that password, if that's not an option then your out of luck. I'm kind of curious, why do you care if people can see the bios settings?
