Need Help with Font Size

Hello,

I just got a Dell Inspiron 5150 and it works well, except for some display problems.

In particular, I find the fonts on programs such as Internet Explorer and AOL Instant Messenger are way too small. My desktop icons are good sized, but these two in particular are not.

I currently have my computer set at 120 dpi, and made the registry key change to get rid of the blurry IE images, but even at this size websites like espn.com are still very small.

I tried to set text size at largest, but nothing changes.

What can I do to get my browser and AOL IM to look bigger?

Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I am running at 1400 x 1050

Hold down control on one of those sites and then scroll the mouse wheel (whist still holding control)... this adjusts the font size larger and smaller. Rolling the wheel towards you makes it larger by the way.

Ok, if the scrolling thing didn't work for you, you could also try manually. In internet explorer click view -> text size -> pick a larger size than what you have at the moment.

Another suggestion, although I personally don't like this one.... Right click the desktop -> Properties -> Appearance tab -> change the font size there.

Thanks, but it did not work for me. Any other thoughts?

You may also want to set IE to "ignore font sizes specified on web pages," in Tools - Options - Accessibility.
