Need Help With Keyboard

Hey, I have a XPS Gen 2 and the ]} popped off and now won't go back on. I believe it's broken. Does anyone know if this is broken or if I'm not doing something right? I can get the top part of the armature to fit in fine, but nothing holds the bottom part down.

Also, this laptop is still under warantee. Would Dell send me a new keyboard if this is indeed broken?

Thanks for the help.

Here are the pictures:

Notice how the armature fits in fine, but the metal tabs don't go over the bottom of it.

There is an article in the knowledge base on replacing a key - search for broken key or such and it should come up.  It's good at walking you through it.  If that doesn't work their solution is to replace the keyboard.  But this is considered "normal wear and tear" so if you don't have the extra special service plan you'll be paying for the replacement keyboard.

Thanks. I found it, but it is indeed broken. You can see in this picture, at the bottom center of the keyboard there should be a tiny bar that the bottom of the armature can snap into. On mine it looks like it snapped off because only the two posts are left.

I have the Complete Care so hopefully that will cover it. Thanks again.

It will, call XPS Support they should be able to get that fixed for you.

My keyboard has started to be really slow about showing the letters on the screen. I installed a new phone line from pc to  phone jack(dsl), & also installed a new printer. After both of these  my keyboard  is really really slow to respond. I'm taling  that i can type an email & then 30 or more sec.  later the lettes appear on screen. I cannot use my mouse until all the letters are on the screen. I uninstalled printer software, rebooted pc & same rersults.
