Socket type doesn't tell the whole story. The T7500 uses a socket-P pin layout which though the same physically as the older Socket M, will only work in the very newest systems - unless you have one of the new Dells (Inspiron 1520/Vostro 1500, Inspiron 1720/Vostro 1700), the T7500 won't work.
The system will support the CPU as Dell has it as an option.
Two caveats:
Any damage done while swapping the CPU is not covered by warranty, and ...
... Retain the original CPU for the duration of the warranty, for if you had to have your system serviced, you could well find it returned with the original CPU, and not the one you upgraded to.
