New E6520 - Can't setup fingerprint reader

Just received a new E6520 laptop last week.  OS is windows 7 professional 64 bit.  The machine includes a fingerprint reader.  The reader shows "Device functioning normally" in the device manager.  However I can't seem to find the software necessary to actually set it up to do the windows login function (or anything else for that matter.)  I have tried the "Help and Support" function and searched for some sort of set up software, but no joy.  Anyone have the secret sauce to setting this device up?

It's called 'Dell Data Protection | Access'. You should install 3 or 4 pieces of software:

  • Dell Data Protection | Access
  • Dell Data Protection | Access | Drivers
  • Dell Data Protection | Access | Middleware
  • Control Vault (I'm not sure about this one)

Then you should run:

Start Menu -> All Programs -> Dell -> Dell Data Protection -> Access -> Access

Here you can configure fingerprint reader.

Whew!  That did it.  Thank you!  Not sure I would have ever managed to navigate through that on my own.
