NIC Network Interface Controller

Question

Hi, In my Dell Inspiron, I have an integrated NIC (Network Interface Controller). I checked it in my computer setup and its there. However, what makes me confused is that there is no Ethernet port to plug the Ethernet cable in. The NIC has an wireless network functionality, as I connect to the wireless network in my home, but what if I want to use an Ethernet. It seems weird to not have an Ethernet port in a laptop. Thanks.
