waste of money. as long as the vents on the sides and bottom arent covered your good to go. Sometimes the fans u guy are no where near the fans that are on the laptop and does nothing.
I wouldn't recommend getting one of those fan-based coolers that draw power via USB or some other port. Some are pretty cheap and can be noisy... but helping airflow around the laptop can never be a bad thing. I got an XT-Stand and it was one of the best accessories I got for my Inspiron, it's totally adjustable to fit any size laptop and it will tilt it nicely. This increases airflow around the machine AND makes it more comfortable to use for long periods of time, since the screen is raised up and the keyboard is at an angle rather than flat.
