ok, do a search for the "coolbits" registry tweak...

install that and you will enable the clock settings built into your driver and you can use them to fiddle with your clock speeds.

How to uninstall drivers? the nvidia drivers are listed in "add/remove programs" in control panel, but you can download little apps that will make sure the drivers are gone.

As for how to find the current driver you are using, rigth click somewhere blank on your desktop and select "properties"
then the "settings" tab, followed by the "advanced" button.

That will popup the driver settings, one of the tabs will be the name of your vid card..

click on that, down the bottom of that window, will be a summary of driver files..

The last for digits of the number after each file are the detonator version..
(That tab also has all the settings for your card, includeing the overclocking if you installed coolbits or one of mobilenvidia's driver inf's.)

hope that helps.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
"Coolbits"=dword:ffffffff
"NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
"NvCplEnableAdditionalInfoPage"=dword:00000001
"NvCplEnableClearViewPage"=dword:00000001

to overclock your gf4go 440...

just download this file:

coolbits plus...
http://www.warp2search.net/images/41.80_options/coolbits+.reg

then double click it and say "ok"...

it's an auto-registry tweaker that'll make the overclocking tab show up in your video settings...

right click on desktop/ properties/ settings/ advanced/ geforce4go 440/ clock frequencies...

move the sliders right 2 to 5 mhz at a time and "test settings"... then "apply"...

then run 3dmark2001 to make sure it's stable and not artifacting... if it doesn't crash...

move the sliders right 2 to 5 mhz again... and repeat until you feel comfortable...

okay thanks a bunch for all your guys help, so far i've increased it 20Mhz on both the core clock frequency and the memory clock frequency to 240Mhz and 460Mhz respectively, do you think that that's too much? everything's stable but i haven't been able to run 3dmark2001 se build 330 bc i need directX 8.1 which i apparently don't have, so i'm upgrading to directX 9.0b just to be ahead of the game. i'll get back to you a.s.a.p

your overclock looks fine...

when i had my gf4go 440 installed in my i8200 with a p4m 1.7ghz...

i got it up to 240 core / 480 mem...

5456 points in 3dmark2001 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=4869766

if you're overclocking and it finally does crash or artifact really bad... just back-down the clocks by 3 mhz or so...

and that... is pro'lly your optimum overclock.
