P-M DOthAN
If i go and act like i'm ordering a new 600m the best it can come with is the 1.8GHZ Pentium M! Does this mean if i buy the 2.0GHZ one and install it in my 600m it will cause heat problems or is this just a thing on new 600m's where the best they have is 1.8 not 2.0?

None of the recent sources mentions anything about 755 being dissipating more heat than 745. Some sources speculate that 755 may be in short supply. Further, for I8600, 745 has replaced old Banias 1.7GHz, so the current options for 600m may be due to Dell's marketing strategy.
Still, it may be safer to wait until some bold user sticks a 755 into 600m.

As far as I know, only the most recent BIOS updates for I8600, D800 and M60 provided Dothan support. Check the readme files for 600m BIOS upgrades, looking for Enhancements: Provide support for faster Pentium M, or something similar.

Yep, you'll need just about the latest BIOS release in order to use a Dothan P-M, because support was only added in these later ones.

Wait a while - given the performance boost for the dollar, it's a poor buy (this is a $700+ CPU).

Yeah, you should wait before buying. In a few months (September I think) the new 533MHz FSB P-M's will be released along with the new chipset. With this release hopefully the price of the Dothans will fall at least a little.... also by that time you may seee some of them for much cheaper on ebay.
