PC Speaker Beeping Fix

If you have PC Speaker Beeping on Errors or while adjusting the sound on desktop etc:
to disable it do this:
Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new string value, or modify the existing value, named "Beep" and set it to either 'Yes' for beeping enabled or 'No' for beeping disabled.

You may need to log off or restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Registry Settings User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound]
Value Name: Beep
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: Yes or No

Disclaimer: Modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. I cannot guarantee that problems resulting from modifications to the registry can be solved. Use the information provided at your own risk.

I have a strange PC speaker beep arround 1sec long.

I really don't understand when it's comming but it seems that is mostly when I don't use the laptop.

Model is Inspiron 9400 - 1 week old.

The registry hint doesn't help at all. What this signal could mean - is there someone who can give me a list of beep signals of this model.

Thanks in advance.

This fix worked like a charm for my Inspiron E1505!  Took about two minutes to edit the registry value, and the loud, annoying, unstoppable beep is now permanently gone. Thanks!
