Poor quality on external monitor
I have a Latitude C640 with a ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility 32MB graphics card. I try to run my desktop monitor through the vga port but the picture quality is awful. My preferred resolution would be 1600x1200 @85Hz but at this setting everything is slightly blurry, sort of. The monitor is fine since I usually run it with a Radeon 8500 on the desktop and it produces crisp output at 1600x1200 85Hz. Lowering the resolution on the laptop to 1280x1024 helps but it still doesn't match the desktop, everything seems darker and less vibrant with the laptop vga output. Am I missing some color settings? or monitor .inf's ? The laptop looks fine on the LCD (1024x768 native res.). Should also mention that it doesnt matter if I run CRT only or CRT+LCD. I use the latest drivers and bios available for the system, not the Dell video drivers though. I run the Omega mobility modified catalyst 3.7. I would greatly appreciate any input.
Is this user fixable or a warranty issue? (It is still under warranty)
Thanks

I have exactly the same problem, except I use the X300 with a CRT (Nec C710) which works just fine with my Desktop. I get a blurry picture. I tried with a different CRT - same result. If I plug in an LCD screen - the picture is fine.
