there isn't one installed by default so if you didn't install one yourself then you'll not have one.

He speaks truth. Listen to good man. Seriously though, you could also try a browser such as Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. It offers are more intuitive way of browsing (through tabs intead of windows), consumes less resources, and has a built-in pop-up stopper that works wonders.

If you are using Windows XP you may want to look at Service Pack 2 RC2. This still-in-beta service pack has a nice and easy popup blocker built-in as well as a new security setup. It is worth checking out. Go to Microsoft.com and do a search for "Service Pack 2". It is like the first link on the results list.

Just an idea.

Erm besides going to a site with lots of popups, it's hard to just 'check'. Normally it'd have to be a plugin that you have installed for internet explorer, or something that starts up when you start the computer.

Another good solution is to download and install the latest version of the Google Toolbar.  With it, you can decide individually which pages let pop ups through, and which ones don't.  Plus, it's a small download and even better, it's free!

Even better, don't use IE :-) I've recently converted to Mozilla Firefox... and it's nice! So nice infact that I'm tempted to install it on my dad's pc. ;-)
