Problem ejecting from Docking Station

When I try to eject from my docking station I get an error message of:

"You cannot eject your computer because one of the devices in the docking station, "Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard," cannot be stopped right now.  Try closing all applications and ejecting the computer again later."

I also get this same message when I try to put my computer into suspend (using Fn + Esc and when I close the lid) except it starts by saying:

"System standby failed because...(Same as above)."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard driver - that did not work.  I don't have any other keyboard connected to my computer. I have updated my BIOS - that did not work. I have had this problem for a while and I am stuck now.  I dont know where to go from here.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Dannyv11,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Try uninstalling any software/driver you have installed for your keyboard.
Also remove the keyboard from the Device manager.
Then reboot and let Windows load any native drivers it may have for the keyboard.
If that does not work, then you will need updated drivers for the keyboard.
There may be some located on the Microsoft web page or the keyboard manufacturers web page.
What is the brand/model of keyboard?
What operating system are you using?

Karell,

FYI, I do not have a extra keyboard on my laptop; all I have is the keyboard that came with (built into) my laptop.  I do not have a keyboard connected to the docking station either.  I have tried uninstalling the the software/driver for the keyboard.  Does dell have an updated driver for the keyboard that came on my Inspiron 8100? Is the keyboard that is on my Dell computer a Microsoft keyboard, and can I go to Microsoft for a driver?

Any more information/help would be greatly appreciated, this is the only ongoing problem I have had with my Dell.

Thank you again,

dannyv11

Danny,

Does dell have an updated driver for the keyboard that came on my Inspiron 8100?
No, Dell does not have keyboard drivers for the portables keyboard.

Is the keyboard that is on my Dell computer a Microsoft keyboard, and can I go to Microsoft for a driver?
No.

What operating system are you using?
Have you ever installed the Dell Touch software?
You can see a version of it here.
Do you remember installing any devices or software that may also have installed a keyboard driver?
Look at your Add\Remove programs list, do you see anything in there that may be keyboard software?
You can also try deleting your docking profile.

Question:
How do I delete my Docked profile?

Answer:
Win2000 and XP.
First you must undock the system.
Then boot the system to Windows.
Right click on My Computer, click on properties.
Click on the Hardware tab.
Click the Hardware Profile button.
You may have two or more docking profiles listed.
Profile 1 (Current), Profile 2, or Docking Profile...
You need to delete the Docking Profile or Profile 2, whichever one is not current.
Click on the appropriate profile, then click Delete, and YES.
Reboot the system.
