Remove the service tag by editing your post. That is not allowed in this public user to user forum. It sounds like you don't have a Dell battery or the battery is worn out and needs replacing. Remove it and use just the adapter. If that works, replace the battery with a genuine Dell replacement or always use the adapter alone.
