Problem solved: wi-fi connection reconnected
I'm the one who posted about losing wifi connection of my Dell laptop. I figured out that my problem just started after the critical update automatically, so, I just did the system restore to the point before today. The only thing I am concerned is since my laptop schedules doing windows update automatically at a certain time regularly, then every time I have to do the system restore? So, something is wrong with windows update, then why I have to schedule my laptop going through with it, and keep giving me a hard time?

The 8.1 update comes through the MS store, not normal updates. You need to go to the store to do it. Note that after a certain date, 8.0 will no longer get OS or security updates. You might want to try the update again, and then check to see if you need to update WiFi drivers.
