Problem With Display

Question

I have a Dell Studio 1558 laptop. with ATI 512 MB Graphics
The display was working fine till some time back before shutting down when i was trying to startup the computer the display is not coming. The power button lights up on switching it on and you can hear Fan sound,
there is no any beep but there's no display.
if i push the power button for turning off it is goes immediatly off within second .Is the problem with the LED screen or might there be a connection problem? Please help!!

Now i found that my LED screen havng no problem. when i press D whille starting up it shows colour pattern. (Passed BIST test)
what will other possibilities

is it repairable ?

Yes, depending on what's wrong with the cable - from the sound of it though it's not a display issue.  Check with an external monitor for a definitive answer.

To differentiate a video chip failure from a screen or cable problem, attach an external monitor. It it shows a good image, first reseat (unplug and reconnect) both ends of the cable that runs between the system board and display. Check the cable for damage - if it's evidently damaged, replace it. If the cable checks out OK and the system doesn't clear up after reseating the two cable connections, replace the display panel.

If the external monitor shows the same fault as the internal, replace the system board.

If so, it's likely a video chip failure - you will need to replace the mainboard.

you mean whole motherboard ? if its whole motherboard then how much price will around in INR
