problem with Intel Management Engine Interface Driver

After i formated my dell xps 17 l702x i ran the Dell System Detect through Dell's support site (here) to find any suitable drivers for my system.

I installed all the recommended drivers except Intel Management Engine Interface Driver which seems to have a instalation problem.

To be more specifi:

  1. i downloaded the driver file from dell site
  2. i unzipped it
  3.  i found the destination folder and run the setup.exe
  4. then the pc proceeded to installation and finished it without any problems
  5. i restarted the pc (although the installation wizard didn't ask so)

but after those steps I ran again the the Dell System Detect and it found that the Intel Management Engine Interface Driver was missing.

Do you have any idea how to fix this? Thank you in advance

I have the exact same issue.

In my case, I am having blue screens from time to time.  So, I need to install all the recommended drivers.

All other drivers installed fine.   But,  when it comes to Intel Management Engine Interface Driver, although installation finishes without any errors,   Dell site's detects always that this driver in still missing, and Window's  'programs and features'  does not update to show that driver installed.

Any help on this would be great!

first i want to say, on my 3542 laptop, after upgrading to win 10, the management engine caused a bad problem. laptop not shutting down properly and draining my battery after i thought it had been shut down. so i wouldnt recommend installing it.

that being said

go to control panel

click uninstall a program, and u should be able to see if it has been installed or not, it installs a program along with the driver
