Repeated similar problems are NOT due to the hardware. Do you routinely clean out the area of the CPU/GPU of "Dust Bunnies"? A small amount of fuzz can severely hinder air flow. If the fan is running, it doesn't need to be replaced. Using the laptop on your lap without a "lap desk" can also result in overheating by blocking the vents. A real problem with any computer is improper installation of the heat transfer devices (heat sinks", including not using new thermal paste or pads when the system board is replaced. All the other parts are reused. Some have had cases where the heat sinks were not even installed on the chips, just laying there.

Thanks for the reply.  I did some searching and saw a write-up on cleaning out the 'dust bunnies'.  I will try that when I get home and hopefully that is all that is needed.  If not, is there any sort of how-to on checking out the heat sinks?
