Problem with USB jump drive

Has anyone else had any problems using a jump (flash/pen/thumb) drive on a Latitude C810 running Win2k Pro? We can sometimes get it to work from a USB hub plugged into the machine but never when directly connected.

It has the user (one of my collegues) ready to toss it out the window...

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I'm having the same problem.  My Lattitude C840 running WinXP SP1 and all critical patches does not recognize the Lexar thumb drive.

Anyone with ideas?

One thing that we found with networked users is that the jump drive will only be recognized if it can use the next drive letter after the last physical drive. For instance, you have 2 partitions: C & D  then a CD rom drive which is E: --- the keychain device needs to be F:---if you try to assign it to a later drive letter it won't be recognized.  Hope this helps.
