You may follow the steps below after updating the driver:
Run the Intel® RST software through the All Programs menu or the task bar icon.
Click Enable acceleration under either the Status or Accelerate menu.
Select the SSD to be used as a cache device.
Select the size from the SSD to be allocated for the cache memory.
Select the drive (or RAID volume) to be accelerated. It is highly recommended to accelerate the system volume or system disk for maximum performance.
Select the acceleration mode. By default, enhanced mode is selected.
Click OK. The page refreshes and reports the new acceleration configuration in the acceleration view. Your system is now successfully configured with the Intel® Smart Response Technology.
Hope this helps. Please reply with the findings. I would be glad to assist further.
I followed the above instructions and I got the following error "An error occured and the selected disk or volume could not be accelerated. Please restart your computer, and then try the operation again."
I restarted the laptop and tried again. I get the same error
I am having exactly the same issues as this user. This is totally unacceptable for a new PC direct from Dell, I expected the SSD drive to be configure by the factory.
Thanks for the reply. You may update the system BIOS and then try to accelerate the drive.
Note: Before updating BIOS please ensure that: *Battery is 10%> or >10% charged *Battery charger should be connected *No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected. *All other programs should be closed and documents saved
You may download and install the latest drivers from the link: http://dell.to/N6u34S. On the link, enter the system Service Tag and click on ‘Continue’. Select the operating system and it will display a list of available downloads. From the list select ‘BIOS’ and click ‘Download File’, follow the on screen instructions.
Hope this helps. Please reply with the information. I would be glad to assist further.
