Yes, I have the same problem with win7 + "bad resolution" I can not read because the colors are mixing (I don't know how to explain).
from dell service just tell me that Dell don't supports win 7 for this model (support center gives me drivers only for vista 32 and 64 bit), that
Vista is running without problems, but the camera is black and white. (it was not at the start). 3 of my friends have dell notebooks (inspiron and vostro,) and the cameras are in color . . . it is 21st century , ???? but my studio gives me this problem.
Run Windows Update. I had the same thing, and it found an update for "Intel Corporation - Display - Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family". That was yesterday, and I've been running a day with only one slight hiccup.
If that doesn't work, turn off the Aero interface. Others that have reported the same issue have had success getting the problem to go away that way.
Thank U for help. Disabling the aero theme works :emotion-2: Updates are turned on and I hope that the issue will be fixed.
Your information is on time, . . . because ON MY RISK I planed to restart Bios (with motherboard battery). I'm not sure how smart is that ??? But I will appreciate your opinion.
I was scared that I have a hardware problem, but Vista and only Vista runs great. (the problem was that I have 7, and in 14 days of use, I format my computer 3 times, and I do not like to do that so often )
--- I FIX CAMERA . . . IT IS NOT BLACK AND WHITE ---- With skype ? ? ? I enabled the color ???? it is strange why by default is black and white ?
If you have Windows Automatic Update turned on, that will only get you the critical fixes. The one for the graphics is an optional update, and you likely have to run Update manually to get that one, and then select it from the optional list of updates.
As for resetting the BIOS, I am usually wary to make those changes. I would do it only if all else fails.
I am having the same problems after upgrading to Windows 7 32bit. I turned off the Aero interface and that fixed the problem but I have to give up all the themes. How can I go back to Vista?
If you have any problem with an dell 1537 on windows 7 please free to ask me( i will try to help )
First of all the problem with the graphic card is because an incompatibility between windows 7 and the ram video allocation (I suppose that you have 3gb of ram and an integrated graphic card).
You should change the ram (remove the one gb and you will have only 2 gb (and the graphic card will work normally) or remove the one gb and buy a new one with 2gb and you will have 4gb(the graphic card also run smoothly) )
For the problem with the webcam in windows vista (black and white) , if you have the latest dell driver I think is a hardware problem
The drivers at this link are older drivers for the graphics card which work and you are not going to have the problem anymore. The actual problem is happening because Windows 7 is not compatible with your computer which has 3gb of RAM. You can downgrade your RAM to 2gb or upgrade it to 4gb, none of them ideal….or just download and install the older drivers listed at the link ;).
Make sure you do NOT install the newer graphics drivers when running your regular Windows Upgrade process. Because if you do, you will have the same problem again….and you will have to download/install these older drivers again.
I have seen over 30 threads on the Dell web community web, and at least 50 external threads/blogs on the internet (thousand of users – literally). None of them giving the actual solution. But here I’m finally solving your problem Dell. You are welcome…
Also upgrade the 2gb to be the same(like specification) with your other 2gb memory(use a program to see what type of memory do you have or look on it when open).
And if you have win 7 32 bits the windows will use only 3gb, if you will have win 7 64 bit windows will use all 4 gb
Well I spoke to soon, the problem has returned. When I play Harts I can hardly read the cards. I removed one gig of ram and once again it appears the problem is solved. I ordered a two gig card to replace the one. Hopefully when add the two gigs and have a total of four everything will work OK still.....
So you are telling me that if I upgrade from 3gb to 4gb of ram my 32bit Win7 will only use 3gb. Something is wrong with that picture. Anyways I have another question? I previously had Vista 32bit so I thought the best thing for me was to upgrade to Win7 32bit. Now I wish I would have use the 64bit install disk instead. How hard would be to Install the 64bit Win7 over the 32bit version. The upgrade advisor said I could use either one.

i do not under stand your first statement. It will make no difference you can install windows 7. It might even fix the issue.
Web cams are black and white mine is unless you get a high price color one.

Hey guys,
After researching the internet for months, I have finally found a solution to this problem. Go to the Intel website http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=3246&DwnldID=18631 and download/install the drivers listed.
The drivers at this link are older drivers for the graphics card which work and you are not going to have the problem anymore. The actual problem is happening because Windows 7 is not compatible with your computer which has 3gb of RAM. If you will have 4 gb it will work very good.
Also upgrade the 2gb to be the same(like specification) with your other 2gb memory(use a program to see what type of memory do you have or look on it when open).
And if you have win 7 32 bits the windows will use only 3gb, if you will have win 7 64 bit windows will use all 4 gb
Regards , if any other question i will help
