Program Installation Problem mfc42.dll

Hey
I just received my new XPS M1530, and I was trying to install Cakewalk Project 5 ( a music program) which i installed on my previous computer and was hoping to move it onto this laptop

But it really didn't work so I tried to run it in compatibility with XP, the OS I had previously used, an the same error came up.

"The file 'C:\Windows\system32\mfc42.dll' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. Access is denied"

And I ran it with Administrator settings, I turned off UAC, and I even checked to make sure i had the file (I did. And when I tried to change the read/write settings but it told me "access denied"). Nothing works, and it doesn't seem like it's an issue with the program because my friend has the same program and we have the same laptop with Vista.

What gives?
