Question regarding peripherals

Hi,

I own a Dell Inspirion 5100 laptop. Not a bad little machine.  Recently I have the opputrunity yo buy a Dell D-family monitor stand and a D-family advanced port replicator.  My question is, are they compatible? If not, is there a product that does the same thing for my laptop?

The 5100 isn't compatible with the D-Family APR - it has no port on the bottom to connect to the APR. I believe the monitor stand is just a generic piece of plastic for holding up a monitor.

There is no APR equivalent for the 5100.

There are port replicators for sale, third party, that will do essentially what the APR does... but they generally connect via USB. Some support ethernet, some don't...
