Random 'hot' key functions

I have found on my Dell XPS laptop that when I type (usually in MS Outlook) the computer often performs random functions like selecting all the text (which causes it to delete it all on the next key stroke) or moving the curser to a different location. This occurs without pressing Ctrl, Fn or Alt keys. It seems to occassionally occur after pressing the 't' key. Does anyone know if there is a combination of hot keys involving the letter 't' that might be causing this?
