Recovery disk question
I have never used the dell recovery disks before so I have a quick question about it. I have an external drive that connects using usb 3.0. I am going to change the disk in my xps12. In order to get it like it was out of the box but with the new drive, all I need to do is create a bootable rescue disk using the dell backup and recovery, right?

I left feedback that Rescue Disk is a bad name and many users get it confused with DVDs or USB flash drives.
Essentially I would rename:
For the USB Flash Drive make a Recovery USB.
Note the External Hard Drive does not work with legacy systems as their BIOS cannot boot from it.

Its best to use a 16-32 GB USB flash drive. Ensure that you update Dell Backup and Recovery to version 1.7.1.2 before making the recovery USB. See here for more details:

I have version 1.7.1.2. I have a 64gb usb 3.0 drive. When I put it in and try to create a rescue disk it will not let me. It says my device is not compatible with rescue disk but that I can make a reinstall disk with it. I have tried it with 2 different flash drives and I get the same message. The rescue disk only works with an external hard drive. Is the rescue disk feature supposed to work with a flash drive?
