Reinstall Windows 7

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, and I need to reninstall Windows 7, due to speed and other issues, how do I do this? windows was preinstalled?

The first thing to do is back up your files on external harddrive, documents, music, videos etc.

You have two choices (see page 41 of the Dell Inspiron Setup Guide.) 

1. The Dell Quick Restore (to factory settings).

2. Reinstall by discs. You should have a Windows 7 disc and a driver disc provided by Dell. Note if you don't you can download the correct .iso file from here (usually the 64 bit version of Home Premium) and use Windows 7 to USB/DVD Tool to create a Windows 7 Installation Disc from a Blank DVD or use a USB device (> 4 Gb) to install Windows. Drivers are available from the Dell Drivers and Downloads page (Usually the 64 bit version of Home Premium).

Note: Ensure that you install the Drivers in the correct order see here.

Note: You may also have a list of preinstalled software in My Dell Downloads (its quite a new service and not all systems are supported) here.
