Reinstalling windows failed

I attempted to reinstall windows xp on my D620.  Went through with the hard drive formatting and the middle of preparing for the installation, the compouter overheat and the installaiton crashed.  Now when I reboot the computer it just shows blank.  How do I start the reinstallation again?

If the computer is overheating, find out why and have it fixed first - either the heatsink is covered in dust, or the fan is faulty.

Can you get into a BIOS screen (F2 at powerup)?

Verify that the LED on the AC adapter comes on when you plug it in leaving the notebook end disconnected.  If it doesn't, replace the adapter.  If it does, then power off and try reseating the memory modules.

If you then still get nothing, you've a faulty system board.
