replace LCD

I had an accident with my inspiron 1405. Even though externally everthing looks fine and intact and I can perfectly well connect to another computer screen, my display looks like a broken window. The technician says it's definitely the LCD and only the LCD. Can it get replaced by an amateur and where to get it?

Here is the link to the service manual. When you said amateur, then it could create issues. Opening up laptops can be very tricky.  Unless you have been inside computers, suggest you have some one who knows what to do. There are many delicate components inside that could be damaged if not handled properly.

It can be done but you need to be very careful and they cost a lot

www.parts-people.com, they have the parts and will do the work for a flat fee plus parts.

Your experience is why Complete Care is a good idea on laptops.
