Next best: a different model known to have shipped with the system you have. In this case BE SURE you get the inverter and data cable for the panel you buy - the originals may not fit it.
Yes, with the caveat above - if it's a different make/model (say a Samsung screen to replace a Chi Mei), you need the inverter and data cable to go with it.

So if I get another WXGA 15.4" panel for the Inspiron 6000, it should work fine?
