Reserve battery
I recently ordered a new reserve battery for my Inspiron 2100 laptop. I downloaded the instructions for replacing it and find two batteries mentioned, RTC and Reserve. The drawings clearly identify the reserve battery but do not show the RTC battery. Are they the same part?
I don't want to take this apart and then find I don't have the right stuff to go back together.

The Reserve Battery and the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery are not the same.
Most likely replacing the Reserve is what you will need to do.
