Resolution on D830

Hello all, I have a question regarding the resolution on a Dell Latitude D830 Notebook. I've ordered the machine with the GMA X3100 videocard and a 15,4" WUXGA display with a native resolution of 1900x1200. However the icons seem pretty small, so I would like to change the resolution to something bigger eg. 1280x800 to maintain the Aspect Ratio (else the display seems stretched) Does anyone know if its possible to use this resolution on the machine? I can't seem to choose this resolution in "Display Settings" the closest I get is 1280x768. Do I have to upgrade the drivers for the videocard or the display panel? Kind regards, Soeren

No matter what you do, the image will not be as sharp and clear at anything below the native resolution - if you want to run that way, consider returning the system for one with a WXGA+ screen.

In the display settings there is an option to change the size of the icons, but ultimately as the other post mentioned with LCD displays you are usually locked to their physical resolution.  typically changing the resolution will result in some level of distortion.  There's a DPI setting for the display too that will affect the size of icon's and text but has potentially the same side affects as changing your resolution.
