Screen Colour/Brightness Problem

Hi All,

When my Dell XPS 15 in running on battery it appears to be adjusting the colours/contrast slowly. I assume this is some kind of power saving feature but its driving me mad.
Basically if I go from my desktop(dark background) to say my computer, the screen loads perfectly then every half second intervals get slightly brighter and brighter and then continues to get brighter until the white is fully displayed. The screen does not get too bright as I have set the screen to low brightness anyway. It's perfectly readable etc just seems really slow to respond to the colour change. For example if I go from a dark to a bright screen it takes around 6 seconds to adjust.

Does anyone else have this issue or know how to stop it? I assume it must be some power saving feature/setting but I cannot find it anywhere. When plugged into the mains, the screen is simply perfect.

Thanks for any responses regarding this and Happy New Year to everyone!

Have you checked the settings under Power Options in your Control Panel?  I went from "Balanced" to "High Performance" and everything got brighter!

Hey Pedrochin,

I adjusted the settings to HIGH and then needed to Reboot. This has solved my problem!! Thankyou.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion I have set everything to high power but still this strange colour/brightness response time issue. Time for Dell support I think.

Kind Regards
