It should be under full 12 months warranty. Have you contacted Dell to see if they would repair it.

Since my problem is not explicitly with the screen hinge but rather with the frame, it's like the bezel and the frame are trying to separate themselves in the corner, the bloke at the dell store kept agruing that it's only an "esthetic" problem and thus is not covered by the basic warranty.... I still need my laptop for 1 month to complete the university year but after that it looks like I'll have to get ready for a lot of arguing with tech support..... I tryed to adjust the screw around the hinge to see if it was loose but everything seems ok on that side...
