secure digital storage device could not start (error code 10)

I have a an SDA Host Controller in my inspiron 9300 laptop.
Some months ago the SD card was functioning properly. That is every time i put an SD card from my digital photo machine into the SDA host controller i had no problem in accessing the photos.

Some time a go from device manager i got the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"I
I noticed that the drivers this device described as "Secure Digital Storage Device" is using are

drvmcdb.sys from sonic
PartMgr.sys from Microsoft
sffdisk.sys from Microsoft
sffp_sd.sys from Microsoft

I have to mention also that SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller seems to function properly in device manager!

What may be the problem?

Thank you

Anyone got any further information on this. I have an inspiron 9300 and my SD Card has been working fine, then yesterday i took it out to swap it with another one, and now neither work... both giving the error code 10... so frustrating that something so small, and what is supposedly plug and play can cause so much trouble... thanks Dal

The problem remains. Usually i use Kingston SD but nothing happens. I except that Dell or Microsoft might give an explanation about this problem!
I thought that may be reinstalling Windows XP may solve it but it is too much trouble.
What i did not do yet is to use an external usb connector for the SDs.

Any suggestion?

Thanks
