Shift key problems

I am having a problem with my right shift key. It won't recognize the 'shift' unless i push extremely hard on it, or dead in the center of it. How would I go about fixing this. Can i just pop the key off and kind of clean under it? There are some other keys doing this as well. Maybe i just need to get used to the keyboard, as I am moving from a desktop to my new laptop.

if you use your dell diagnostic disk you can actually check all the keys to see if they are working properly.

Ok, I will try that, but if that doesn't work, should I just be able to like pry the key off and put it back on with no damage done or having my warranty voided?
